I.Program Objectives

This program aims to cultivate outstanding innovative talents with noble and sound personality and strong sense of social responsibility, master the basic theory and practical skill of horticultural plants breeding, cultivation management, viticulture sensory evaluation, healthy horticulture and other horticulture related industry on planning, project design or product marketing, with capability of engaging in modern production, industrial development, science promotion, operating management in horticulture and related professional directions.

II. Requirements for Graduation

Students are required to all-round development, with good ideological and moral qualities, humanistic qualities and civilized habits. Master the basic theories, knowledge and skills of horticultural crop breeding, cultivation management, wine making, sensory evaluation, healthy horticulture and horticulture-related industry development planning, project design, product marketing and other production, able to combine theory with practice, creative use of learned professional knowledge and skills to analyze and solve practical problems.

Graduates should acquire knowledge and abilities in the following aspects:

① Have excellent ideological and political and humanistic qualities, moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and labor all-round development;

② Basic knowledge of biological science, chemistry, mathematics and computer science;

③ Familiar with the principles and cutting-edge theories, application prospects, development trends and industry demands of new varieties of horticultural crops breeding, cultivation management, wine brewing, healthy horticulture and modern biotechnology;

④ Master the basic skills of viticulture management, wine making, sensory evaluation, commercial management and marketing of horticultural products;

⑤ Familiar with the policies, standards and regulations of modern horticultural production, science and technology extension, industrial development and organization, operation and management;

⑥ Have strong creative thinking, collaborative innovation consciousness and basic ability to carry out innovation practice and scientific and technological development;

⑦ Good application ability in English communication and technical writing application.

III. Academic Structure and Degree

Duration: Four years

Degree: Bachelor of Agriculture conferred by HZAU & Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology conferred by LU.
